The best songs are ones that speak to some universal truth, yet somehow connect at a very personal level. In my opinion, this is one of the elements that separates great songwriters from the amateurs.
Bill Withers, I hold you among the greats. Maybe this song came from a hard personal experience in your life, but every time I miss my wife, this song continually plays in my mind:
